Camp Details – Writing Camp Reimagined

Director: Aurora 2/3 Lead Teacher, Regina Sorey

This two week “day camp” program allows campers to write, edit, and publish their own eBooks or blogs under the guidance of professional authors and credentialed teachers. Campers entering grades 2-5 publish their own eBooks, while middle school campers create their own blogs filled with technology-driven content. Instruction is done through music, games, videos and technology. Your child will engage in learning activities that create positive, confidence-building experiences with writing. eBook_Los Altos eBook PhotoProfessional musicians have turned the curriculum into songs, creating a high energy environment that appeals auditory, kinesthetic, and traditional learners.

Your child will write an eBook (elementary) or blog (middle) about any topic of his/her choosing. From sports and video games to princesses and ponies, we’re less concerned with the topic and more focused on your child having fun with writing while applying the new skills he or she is learning at camp. Whether your child loves to write or hates to write, we’ve got something to help each camper become a better, more confident writer. If you have not already done so, we encourage you to watch the camp video below to see what Adventures in Writing Camp can do for your young writer! (More details on the Adventures in Writing website.)

What to Wear to Camp

Each camper receives two camp shirts and they are asked to wear one each day.
