COVID-19 Travel Policy for Start of School 2020 (June 25, 2020)

June 25, 2020

Dear Aurora Families,

We hope you are enjoying the first days of summer. As some families may be considering travel over the summer, we wanted to share our travel policy as it relates to COVID-19 and the start of the school year. (Our first day of school is August 31.) As conditions and our local health orders change, we will update our policies.

Families are expected to follow the Alameda County Public Health order. At this time, the health order does not allow non-essential travel, socializing beyond one's "bubble," or large gatherings. We ask that families isolate at home for 14 days before returning to campus in the following situations. Note that these are examples, but not an exhaustive list.

  • If your family chooses to travel
  • If your family hosts visitors in your home who are not part of your two-household, 12-person bubble
  • If your family chooses to attend large indoor gatherings

We appreciate your help and understanding as we prepare for a safe and healthy school year. Please contact me with any questions.

Thank you,
Abbie
