Planning for the 2020-21 School Year (April 29, 2020)

April 29, 2020

Dear Aurora Parents,

We hope that you and your children are all healthy and have found ways to navigate these unprecedented times. At Aurora, we have adjusted to remote teaching and continue to refine its delivery based on your feedback.

Although we do not know yet what the parameters will be for schools this fall, we are preparing for three scenarios, outlined below. Our preferred option is, of course, to be back on campus (Plan A). If this is not possible due to public health concerns, we have other safe learning options to count on.

Plan A:
We return to campus for the beginning of the school year. (Note that the date may be adjusted by the state government.) As a small school, we will be able to distance ourselves physically, stagger timing, and adhere to any required safety measures.

Plan B:
We continue to teach remotely. Now that we have received feedback from current parents and made adjustments accordingly, we have a strong remote learning program that we are ready to employ, if necessary.

Plan C:
We employ a hybrid learning model that includes aspects of both Plan A and B. Once again, being a small school enables us to be creative with our scheduling and use of space.

Please feel free to email me with any concerns or questions that you have. We look forward to another vibrant year of learning together at Aurora School—under any circumstance.

Sending well wishes to all,

Abbie Koss
Head of School
